Sikh saint-warrior who laid down his life defending the Golden Temple with unmatched devotionबाबा दीप सिंह जी एक महान सिख विद्वान, संत और योद्धा थे, जिनका जन्म 1682 में अमृतसर में हुआ था। वे गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी के समर्पित शिष्य थे और उन्होंने गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब के लेखन और संरक्षण में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। उनका जीवन सेवा, भक्ति और साहस का प्रतीक रहा। जब 1757 में श्री हरिमंदिर साहिब का अपमान किया गया, तो 75 वर्ष की आयु में उन्होंने उसे बचाने की प्रतिज्ञा ली। युद्ध में गंभीर रूप से घायल होने के बाद भी, उन्होंने सिर धड़ से कटने के बाद भी तलवार चलाते हुए हरिमंदिर तक पहुंच कर अपने प्राण त्यागे — यह घटना आज भी श्रद्धा और वीरता का प्रतीक मानी जाती है। उनका जीवन सिख धर्म के सर्वोच्च मूल्यों — सेवा, बलिदान, भक्ति और साहस — का जीवंत उदाहरण है।
Baba Deep Singh Ji was a revered Sikh scholar, saint, and warrior, born in 1682 in Amritsar. A devout disciple of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, he mastered Sikh scriptures and dedicated his life to service and defense of dharma. He helped write and preserve copies of the Guru Granth Sahib and was known for his unmatched humility and spiritual depth. At the age of 75, when the Golden Temple was desecrated, he took a vow to defend it. Though mortally wounded in battle, legend holds that he continued to fight with his severed head held in one hand and sword in the other, reaching the sacred precincts before breathing his last. His life exemplifies the highest ideals of Sikhism — devotion, sacrifice, courage, and unwavering faith. Baba Deep Singh Ji remains a source of strength and pride for countless devotees.
