Second Sikh Guru who preserved Guru Nanak's teachings and gifted Gurmukhi script to Sikh traditionगुरु अंगद देव जी, जिनका मूल नाम भाई लेहणा था, को गुरु नानक देव जी ने स्वयं अपना उत्तराधिकारी चुना।
Guru Angad Dev Ji, born as Bhai Lehna, was chosen by Guru Nanak Dev Ji himself to carry forward the light of Sikhism. Deeply devoted and humble, he served Guru Nanak selflessly and was blessed as the second Guru in 1539. One of his most enduring contributions was the standardization and promotion of the Gurmukhi script, which helped unify the Sikh identity and preserve the teachings of the Gurus for future generations. He also set up centers for teaching spiritual and physical discipline, especially through wrestling and physical training. Guru Angad Dev Ji’s life was a lesson in submission to the Divine Will, humility, and service. He lived simply, worked hard, and uplifted the poor and forgotten. Through quiet strength and divine wisdom, he carried forward Guru Nanak’s flame and deepened the roots of Sikhism.
